The following are a collection of construction photos of Meremere power station. Built in the late 1950’s on the Waikato river south of Mercer in the North Island of New Zealand, it consisted of six coal fired boilers and seven Metropolitan Vickers/English Electric steam turbines (30MW each) configured as a range station.
Meremere has long since closed down, however the turbine hall still stands and has been repurposed, as was the township of Meremere which was built for the site workers.
